The Windows of My Heart
As this is a time of big change and new beginnings for me, there is a poem that I wrote in Sept 2012 that has been coming to mind. The original title was All the Windows, but what feels good now is The Windows of My Heart. Here are both an audio recording and the written words of the poem:
All the windows of my heart
I open to this day
Not knowing all it will bring
Trusting Spirit to guide my way.
All the windows of my heart
I open to the glorious possibilities
Held in each sunrise and the
Bittersweet goodbyes shared as it sets.
I am no longer hiding
Behind the mask of illusion
Fearing my own shadow,
Caught in senseless confusion.
I have the courage to turn and face
Whatever may come my way
At times, I encounter such incredible beauty
It takes my breath away.
At others, I learn a lesson
Brought to me by the darkness
But guiding my way to the light
If I only stop to listen for the insight.
Still others, I am left wondering
With puzzlement and uncertainty
Learning the value in having a
Beginner’s mind, don’t know mind.
My mind often gets lost and confused
But there’s another part of me
That always, I mean always,
Knows the Truth.
This is where my heart resides
It is my connection to Spirit
It is the light of the Divine
Deep within my soul.
This part is as old as time
As ancient as the wisest sage
As creative as Creation itself
As intelligent as the greatest genius.
This part is where my essence resides
It IS my essence.
It is the only real and lasting part of me
The rest is mere poetry.
All the windows of my heart
I open to this day
Knowing full well its opportunities
May fade quickly away.
There is no time to lose
In this wild, precious life.
Who knows how long my
Clock may tick tonight?
Life is magical indeed
Full of spectacular sights and sounds
Packed with friends and allies
All awaiting the Divine encounter
An encounter that gives birth to
New life, new thoughts, new dreams
Dreams created by you and me as we
Learn to play this game of universal harmony.
We are here to unite heaven and earth
To bridge Spirit and form
To connect our hearts to Essence
And in that connection, find our way back home.
Home. Om.
The sacred sound always alive in and around us
Requiring our full participation and engagement in life
Inviting us to sing our song, dance our dance tonight.
So sing loud and clear, dance with joy and abandon
To make the beautiful music Spirit holds so dear.
Open all the windows of your heart
To this glorious, beauteous, magnificent day
And belt out your melody
Without fear, without shame
Knowing you are the essence of Essence
And within you resides both the sunrise and the sunset.
Your participation
Is needed
To complete
The rest.
